Over the past few months I have been busy sorting out the Gallup Singles Charts and adding these to the end of their tenure as compiler, on 5 Feb 1994. Now, with all 177,327 positions added, I’ve launched two books – both now available for preorder.
The first volume is almost 4,000 pages and just covers the full weekly charts. This also includes data around percentage increase and shows last week and notional national sales. None of this has been calculated before.
The second is my usual accurate and trustworthy analysis book, only this time just covering the Gallup era, from 8 Jan 1983 through to 5 Feb 1994. The Analysis PDF book has the important information you always wanted to see for each charted record:-
- B-Side
- Full Composer Credits
- Song Duration
- Every Re-entry shown with entry date, peak and weeks
- Together with the usual information such as entry date, label and catalogue number.
- The volume also adds up the panel sales for the chart run, so you can see how much each record sold during that chart run.
Both are released on 24 March, and are available to pre-order now.
You can either purchase both together, at a discount, or just select whichever PDF file you’re interested in separately.
Lonnie, congratulations on another terrific volume! Can I point out that your comment regarding the final issue of Record Mirror appears in 1991 and 1992 in both books. Also, in the charts book, the headers at the top of each page suggest there is a column showing the “movement” (presumably up or down?) but that detail seems to be missing. Minor matters, but I know you are keen to get everything slick and span.
Best wishes.
Thanks. The movement will be removed for the final file and the notice about Record Mirror amended. Not sure how it ended up in 1992….
